Guild Exhibit Fluidity  October 4 - 18, 2019

Fluidity, the ability of a substance to flow easily; smooth elegance or grace; the state of being unsettled or unstable; changeability. Members of the Metal Clay Artisan Guild in CT will use "fluidity" as the spark for their imagination. There will be an opening reception on October 4 from 5:00 - 9:00pm; weekend demos and the opportunity to meet the artists.

Last year’s installation was created by Guild members Michal Brown, Sara Brown, Lynda Cmara, Lis-el Crowley, Bevlynn Gallant, Susan Hushin, Sharon Lamonakis, and Bettina Rowlands.  The fourth installation in this whimsical museum exhibit by the guild, each year promises new and surprising features. Faerieville, USA was an enchanting town where faeries live, play, and work.

Members of the Metal Clay Artisan Guild in CT, with nothing more than their imagination, creative spirit, and a few simple tools, transformed shapeless lumps of clay into objects of exquisite beauty. The alchemy of the kiln transformed the fragile creations into metal pieces that are durable and strong as well as beautiful.

Guest Speaker Marlene Richey May 5, 2017

Marlene is the author of Profiting by Design: a Jewelry Maker's Guide to Business Success. Marlene is a well-known speaker on business topics related to the jewelry industry and was a regular columnist for Art Jewelry Magazine. She presented her talk about pricing and selling jewelry to the Guild.

Wee Faerie Village September - October, 2014

Old Lyme, CT

Members of the Metal Clay Artisan Guild in CT, along with artists from across the state, created a site specific installation for the Steampunk'd Wonderland themed Wee Faerie Village on the Florence Griswold Museum Campus. An imaginative guided trip through Alice's Adventure in Wonderland, the Guild was found in the first chapter of the adventure, with an installation that invited the viewer down the rabbit hole and through the hall of doors Alice was confronted with.

Guild Exhibit Inspired Objects: Metalworking through the Ages June - Aug., 2014

The Metal Clay Artisan Guild in CT and the Windsor Historical Society partnered to present an exhibit of artwork by Guild artisans inspired by objects in the Historical Society's collection.

Guild member Bevlynn Gallant presented a lecture about metal clay on July 23 as part of the event.

The MAGIC* Bracelet Charity Auction June, 2014

*Metal Clay Artisans Guild in Connecticut
This beautiful, one-of-a-kind bracelet was created by members of the Metal Clay Artisan Guild in CT. The mixed metals charms were handcrafted in silver, copper, and bronze. A showstopper bracelet!
The Guild donated all of the proceeds from the auction to the Connecticut chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, making this a lovely way to support a very worthy cause!
