December Meeting Notes

Hello Everyone:

Another month, another meeting!! This one was a good one. Lots of discussion about everything from COVID to jewelry, to the holidays and planning for the future.

We have scheduled a few more meetings, virtual I’m sure:

January 3

February 7

March 7

April 11

Same time, 1pm on Sundays. Maybe, just maybe, we will be able to meet in person in May???? It’s a goal, right?!

We talked about where to buy metal clay. I’m sure there are more. I just can’t remember others. These are the few we mentioned:

Metal Clay Supply

CoolTools

Clay Revolution

Rio Grande

Fire Mountain Gems

Metalclays.com

AMCAW’s next virtual meeting is all about photography if anyone is interested. There are other good videos. Pam East did a great tutorial on CraftCast. There are also some on YouTube using a phone and a regular DSL camera with or without a lightbox.

Sara talked about the book she and Bevlynn are working on for Lis-el’s family. She is still collecting pages so please, think about putting something together. We sent out a reminder email not too long ago. It doesn’t have to be anything complex, just a few words, something that the family can look at from time to time and know how much she meant to all of us. The guild was her pride and joy; it was an honor for me to be part of it. Her family would probably love to hear that.

We had some great pieces for show & tell. We are such a talented group and it’s wonderful to see that some of us are making and selling pieces. I will post the pictures in the blog.

From the top left to bottom right: Josh Berins prong setting non-firable stone; Sara Brown, commission pieces; Sara pendant; Eve Earrings using Aura 22 and her handmade earwires; John Berins leaf pendant.

Keep in mind too that we have no time constraints to post any memories, pictures or stories about Lis-el. If you have something; email it to me and I will add it to the website.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and happy new year’s celebration.

Thanks and stay safe . . . keep wearing your masks!!

Sue

May you all find peace, joy and loving kindness in the new year.
