March Meeting Notes

Hello Everyone

Our meeting today was mostly about our upcoming mini mojo retreat. We finalized most of our plans. It should be a good time for all attending.

Denise updated us with some news from Lisel. She texted her this week and Lisel responded saying she misses everyone one, loves us and wishes she could be with us. Denise and Lynn visited her a couple of weeks ago and talked about how Lisel wants the guild to continue. She also said that Wesleyan Potters has reached out to her family about having a sale of all Lisel’s jewelry as a fundraiser for her family. Denise and Lynn talked about having guild members contribute a piece to the sale/silent auction. An update on these plans will come at a later date.

Lisel also stated that she talked to AMCAW about having an annual award in her name.

We had some general discussion about the future of the guild. We talked about exploring a more cooperative style with no actual leader. We talked about a core structure for recordkeeping and learning; perhaps exploring base metal clay and mixed media.

We had some discussion about the Wee Fairy Village exhibition. Bettina will be getting back to us once we come up with a design.

We also had some Show & Tell. Bevlynn brought some examples of what she is going to demo at the retreat, bezel setting for non-fireable stones.

Check out our upcoming meetings for dates. Events during the meetings will be announced at a later date.
